Sérgio Aluotto

Percussion

Born in Belo Horizonte, Sérgio graduated in Percussion from Minas Gerais Federal University (UFMG) in 2004, under professor Fernando Rocha. During his graduation course, he collaborated with Symphony Orchestra and Percussion Ensemble. He has also studied at the Drummers Collective in New York and attended courses, workshops and lessons with the percussionists Rubén Zúñiga, Eduardo Gianesella, Ricardo Bologna, Eduardo Leandro, John Rilley and Michael Lauren, among others.

 

In 2004, Sérgio was the representative of Minas Gerais selected to join the project Orquestra para Todos, with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. He worked with the Minas Gerais Symphony from 2001 to 2007, and was a Percussion Professor in the UFMG bachelor’s course from 2004 to 2006. He also collaborated with Ouro Preto Orchestra. Sérgio has been a member of the Minas Gerais Philharmonic since its first concert in February 2008.

 

In addition to his intense orchestral activity, Sérgio develops works as a composer and a performer. He recorded the album Incipit in 2005, and starred opposite Mauro Rodrigues, Esdra Ferreira, Rufo Herrera, Werner Silveira, Dílson Florêncio, Eduardo Campos, Décio Ramos, Uakti and Skank.
