He is also a winner of the Malko Competition and holds Master’s degrees in conducting and composition from the Juilliard School of Music.

Cristian Budu is considered one of the greatest Brazilian pianists of his generation. Since the age of nine, Budu has won first prize in many competitions in Brazil, mainly the Nelson Freire Contest (2010). In 2013, he became the first Brazilian to win the Clara Haskil Piano Competition in Switzerland, an achievement regarded by many critics as the most important received by a Brazilian musician in the last two decades. As a soloist and in chamber music, Budu has performed in South America, Europe, United States and Israel, and with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, Minas Gerais Philharmonic, Petrobras Symphony and Sergipe Symphony.
