Alexandre Barros began his musical training under his father, Joaquim Inácio Barros. He continued his studies under Afrânio Lacerda, Gustavo Napoli, Charles Ernest Dias and Arcadius Minczuk. With Woodwind Quintet of the Minas Gerais Federal University (UFMG), he won first prize at the V Chamber Music Contest in the same institution. With Trio Jovem de Palhetas, he received the Young Soloist award of São Paulo State Symphony (Osesp) and an honorable mention in Young Soloist of Santa Marcelina Faculty. He has also received the Eleazar de Carvalho Award at Campos do Jordão International Festival.

 

As a soloist, he has performed with the orchestras such as Minas Gerais Symphony, UFMG Symphony, Filarmônica Nova, Ribeirão Preto Symphony and Osesp, as well as Minas Gerais Philharmonic for two times. From 1996 to 1997, Alexandre was a member of Osesp and performed as Principal Oboe of Ribeirão Preto Symphony, having been invited by conductor Roberto Minczuk. Currently, besides working with Minas Gerais Philharmonic, he maintains an intense chamber music activity.
