French Horns
Born in Guarulhos, São Paulo, José Franciso studied Horn at São Paulo Music School between 1995 and 1998 under Ozéas Arantes. In 1999, he joined the Universidade Livre de Música de São Paulo, studying with Professor Mário Rocha.
José Francisco has participated in Londrina and Guarulhos festivals, studied with Zdenek Swuab, Daniel Grabis and Daniel Havens and taken part in a masterclass with the horn player Radovan Vlatkovic as an audit student. In 1999, he joined Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra, where he remained until January 2008.
He was the soloist in Schuman’s Concertpiece for Four Horns and Orchestra with Amazonas Philharmonic in 2006. He was also First Horn in the opera cycles Der Ring des Nibelungen, by Richard Wagner, in Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony, in Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, in Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony, in Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony and in Dvorák’s Ninth Symphony, among others.
