Oboes
Maria Fernanda Gonçalves started her oboe studies in the Cardeal Leme Philharmonic Band, in Espírito Santo do Pinhal, São Paulo, Brazil, and followed her studies at the Municipal Music School in São Paulo, with Benito Sanchez. Later, she graduated Bachelor in Music by FIAM FAAM, under Éser Menezes’ guidance. Gonçalves also studied with Alexandre Ficarelli, Peter Apps and Washington Barella. Maria Fernanda took part of festivals in Brazil like Campos do Jordão Winter Festival, Poços de Caldas’ Music in the Mountains Festival and Music Workshop in Curitiba. In Germany, Gonçalves took Masterkurs in Markneukirchen with Ingo Goritzki and Gregor Witt; and in Bruhl with Christian Wetzel. She also joined masterclasses with Alex Klein, Humbert Lucarelli, Andreas Wittmann, Tomas Indermuhle, Isaac Duarte and Albrecht Mayer.
Maria Fernanda was part of the Repertoire Experimental Orchestrta, where she won the Young Soloist’s Contest twice. She was also part of the São Paulo State Symphonic Band (where she also performed as soloist), Santo André Symphonic Orchestra and the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra, where she had the opportunity to work with great maestros such as Lorin Maazel, Semyon Bychkov, Eiji Oue and Pinchas Zukerman. Gonçalves is also part of the Françaix Quartet.
