First Violins
Arthur was born in Belo Horizonte, where he began his studies at the age of eight at the Music Center for Children of Minas Gerais Federal University (UFMG), with Kenneth Sarch and Marisa Morais. In 2005, he graduated from the same institution in Professor Edson Queiroz de Andrade’s class, who was also his advisor in the Extension Course, between 1997 and 2001. Arthur has participated in many masterclasses with teachers from Brazil and the United States during his training as well. From 2005 to 2008, he studied with Professor Paulo Bosísio in Rio de Janeiro.
The musician was a member of Jung Quartett from 1998 to 1999 and of Quarteto Vivace from 2002 to 2005. He won Young Soloist Award of UFMG in 2000 and was awarded second place in Paulo Bosísio National String Competition in 2003 and 2005. He has served as soloist in the Symphony Orchestra of UFMG Music School and Sesiminas Chamber Orchestra, having also performed as a guest musician with Minas Gerais Symphony and as a member of UFOP Experimental Orchestra (Ouro Preto Federal University) in 2004 and 2005.
In 2006, Arthur was a finalist in Programa Furnas Geração Musical and in July 2007, Violin instructor at Juiz de Fora Music Festival.
